MALAYSIAN PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA

Hi everyone! How's the holiday been doing so far? I hope you guys are being productive everyday πŸ˜‰

So, on the 24th November, me and my friends went to watch the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) at KLCC. It was my first time ever attending an orchestra show. Orchestra has never been exciting for me.My friend, Nik was the one who suggested to watch orchestra. I had no idea why on earth did she suggest to watch orchestra. If I were her, I would plan on watching movies, ice skate or maybe shopping! Haha, nevermind, at least everybody agreed. At first I hesitated on joining them but the only reason why is that my old friend, Aisyah Basirah who transferred to MRSM Tumpat was planning to join, and we've been looking forward to meet each other since last year!

Me and Aisyah used to be very close until people even call us 'twinnies' haha
And the best thing is, we got FREE VIP SEAT TICKETS that actually costs RM189 each!😱 One of my friends' dad works at Petronas, so he managed to get 6 VIP tickets for us.(The perks of being a part of Petronas).

The show starts at 8.30 p.m. but we came at 8.00 p.m.. Since we were considered as VIP's, we were given a room for just the six of us.It really felt as if I'm a celebrity 😜 We had our own lockers and we were served with high class drinks. We also have direct link passage to the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas where the show was held.

Dewan Filharmonik Petronas

8.30 p.m. :
We excitedly get into the hall and were flabbergasted to see the enormous hall. They had the most beautiful chandelier I've ever seen in my life. At that time, the musicians and singers were already getting ready at the stage, looking so professional.

At first, I admit it was very boring. Even Aisyah and I almost fell asleep! They started off by playing slow classical songs. And suddenly,, BOOM! They sound went so loud and played upbeat music that made the whole crowd shocked. Then, that is when me and Aisyah started to enjoy the show.

During the show, there were rest times for the musicians for about 20 minutes after every 30 minutes on stage. So, my friends and I took the chance to take some precious photos of them since we were strictly told to switch off our phones during the show.

I was really astounded by the conductor. He's the famous Maestro Roberto Abbado. His moves are very swift and vibrant. Imagine moving non-stop for 2 hours, whoa he must be really tired after the show. There were 3 inspiring soloists each represented for soprano, tenor and baritone. Not to forget the choral team (USCI chorale), they had the best voice ever!

Here are some pictures of me and my friends:

That's all for now. Will be continuing blogging later. Gotta go and pick up my sister from MRSM Alor Gajah and cheers for her because she just finished her SPM and secondary student life! \(^0^)/
