A DAY BEING SOFEA 💋

Have you guys ever wondered how does it feels to be living in my life? Haha probably no. For this entry, I would like to share a day of being me. So readers, just imagine putting yourself in these situations and activities.😉

People might say I have a boring life, but hey, I think mine is awesome!

Okay, you guys ready? Here we go:

8.00 a.m.:

*Stretches and yawns*

Just woke up from my beauty sleep hehe. Usually, I would continue sleeping after performing my Subuh prayer. I woke up and immediately make up my bed.

tadaa!
After making up my bed, I go to the window and look up to the sky. Aaaah morning sunshine😎🌻

The view from my window
Then, I would do some morning yogas and exercises. From what I read, by doing morning yoga and exerise, it will warm up our digestive systems thus resulting a higher metabolism rate. Besides, it will ease morning aches and pains. For my yoga routine, here's what I do:

After that, I will go and take a shower.

9.30 a.m.:

Usually, other people will be having their breakfast at this moment. But for me, I usually skip my breakfast and will be having brunch (breakfast + lunch). Yeap. That how my eating time would be. At this time, I will try to at least do some exercises since I will be sitting for SPM next year which will determine my whole life. This will take at least an hour.

But, bare in mind that this is Sofea. Sometimes, Every time I study, I will fall asleep. Yep that's me😁 There was once, where I was only able to answer 2 questions, and then my brain dozed off😴💤 hahahaha.

Sometimes, I don't feel like opening some books, so I would just study through some educational apps from my phone:

11.00 a.m.:

Study time is over! It's time for me to get socialize by checking out what's new from the Instagram our maybe watch something fun from Youtube.

I also play some games like Minecraft, Minion Rush and Elevate.

12.30 p.m.:

At this time, I will learn to cook some new dishes. Usually, I will have my sister next to me so that she can monitor me. I think I've found a new hobby now, and it is cooking! haha I never thought this would be one of my hobbies.😋

So, for yesterday, I cooked a few dishes. Some are new ones that I never tried, some are my specialties😘

Yesterday's menu:

Sweet n Sour fish
Fried vegetables with oyster sauce
Omelette
Salted fish

My first time making a sweet n sour fish!

Brunch's ready!

Time to eat! Mmmhhmm. It tastes perfect! Hehe💚 Usually, we couldn't finish all of them, so we will pack them into containers and keep them in the fridge. When Mama and Papa come back home from tiring office work, they would request to taste our own dishes. Believe me, whenever they eat our dishes, there is always smiles plastered on their faces. Phew, glad they like it💗

Then, its time to perform my Zuhr prayer.

3.00 p.m.:

At this time, I will go and watch some movies from our TV. Since Papa already subscribed for Kodi, an open-source media player software application, I can enjoy as much as many movies I want!

For me, I prefer watching action or thriller movies. But lately, I don't know what's happening to me but I keep on watching romance movies, and latest one was 'On Your Wedding Day', a Korean movie.

Not to forget some snacks, I will always have choki choki and Twisties with me when I watch movies.

Break time! Time to perform my Asr' prayer and having my time for social media.

Okay, back to watching movies.

6.00 p.m.:

It's time for me to do some chores. I will fold some clothes that are taken fresh from the dryer. Next, I will sweep some leaves outside my house.

And here comes the unknown-status-kitty(does he have a master? Maybe yes, maybe no,), and we call him Prince Kitty.

Yup, he comes here everyday.

He's soooo huge and likes to be pampered. He loves to be stroked by people.

7.15p.m.:

I can already hear the Maghrib adhan from my house. I should be inside my house by this time, showering and getting myself ready for Maghrib prayer.

This is the time to relax my mind and feed my soul by reciting the quran. Sometimes, I would just listen to some nasyids, zikirs and surahs.

Here's one of  my favourite playlists:

Continuing to perform isya' prayer as soon as I heard the adhan recited by the muazzin from nearby mosque.

9.00 p.m.:

Time for dinner!

This is the only time where we can gather as a whole family since Mama and Papa are really busy. We talked and joke around while enjoying our meals. Sometimes it took a long time not because we eat so slow, but we just talked to much!😂

10.00p.m.:

After finish cleaning the dishes and the table, I go up to my room and check out the social media. I would usually chat with my friends, sometimes, we do some video call if we have so much things to tell that we are just lazy to type hahaha😂

One with Teh a.k.a cheodoppe

11.30p.m.:

Super time! Yesterday, I had curry maggi for supper, I don't usually go for curry but that was the only choice I had😭 It was super spicy that I could even cry!

Curry maggi + eggs
I always get hungry at this time and it's already been a routine for me to eat during this time.

12.30p.m.:

After scrolling my Instagram feed, I think I need to sleep already. I'm an early bird so I usually sleep early. My mind needs a fresh time to wake up so it's to time for me to sleep.

💤💤💤💤💤💤💤💤💤💤💤💤💤💤💤💤💤

That's how my life goes. Hope you guys enjoy! Oops! it's already 1.00a.m. and  need to sleep!!! Toodles!

Holiday? More like holi-YAY!❤

Halo! Glad that you're still keeping up with my adventure😄 Yeayzies!

So, over the school holidays, most of my friends went on vacations. Some of them went to Korea, Indonesia, Australia and even USA! They keep on posting on Instagram pictures of them having fun and I was so jealous because I really wanted to go somewhere and have quality time with my family. But, my parents were so busy.

Suddenly, last week Mama told me that we're going to Phuket, Thailand. I was on cloud nine when I heard that. Like seriously???!! I couldn't believe my ears!

My sister and I helped Mama and Papa for the booking and hotel reservations. We also did some surveys for the best holiday spots and activities in Phuket.

We already set a date and our flight would be on the 22nd December at 7.30 p.m.. We already booked a KLIA limo to get us to KLIA 2. From the website, the driver would pick up us 3 hours before boarding time.

22nd Dec, 5.00 p.m.

The driver should be arrived by now. We waited for hours but he didn't show up. We tried calling him but we couldn't reach. By hook or by crook, we had to get into the plane. Our last choice was to find a 'Grab' driver.

We finally got a driver after waiting for 20 minutes. We were so relieved and just hoped that we can arrived there by time. Ok now comes to the sad part, there was a heavy traffic and plus, the driver drove super duper slow! Gosh, the meter keeps on pointing to 20-30 km/h😭 The distance from our home to the airport won't take that long, just about an hour. But, he took almost 2 hours to get us there. Like what?!

22nd Dec, 7.10 p.m.

We just hoped that we can  to our plane. We ran to check in our luggage. Unfortunately, it was already closed. We were so sad and frustrated because we missed our flight. Mama and Papa went to the information center to settle down on some things. The person in charge told us that we can change our flight on the 25th December, except for we had to pay some more. And they agreed.

So that's how we missed our flight for the first time ever. I swear I wouldn't want to repeat that again.

25th December, 3.00 a.m.

We arrived at the airport. I didn't sleep that night because I was so worried. I was so glad and relieved after we got our bags checked in. Phew.

DAY 1

We got into our plane at 6.30 a.m.. I chose to sit beside next to the window so that I can see the sunrise. It was magnificently beautiful that I couldn't even sleep 😍

My kind of view💙

We arrived around 7.30 a.m.. We booked a taxi and he drove us to our hotel, Palmyra Patong Resort. The hotel was nice and it was doubled-story. After checking in, we went out to had a stroll at the beach nearby, which Patong Beach. It was only 3 mins walk away from our hotel. Cool right?

Patong Beach
Sooooo many stalls near the beach!
We walk and walk and walk, did some shopping and i bought myself a beautiful, beautiful hat! 👒
We got so carried away with shopping, instantly becoming unaware that sun was almost setting. We had an early dinner and catch up with some 💤's at the hotel.

Our hearty dinner

DAY 2

We woke up early in the morning and get ourselves ready in swimming attire because we're going on an-all-day island hopping adventure! Everything about the tour is utterly amazing. The picturesque view was a sight for sore eyes. The seas were so clear that you see the fishies swimming below. Our tour guide, Mr, Pom was such a good sport and we truly enjoyed our trip.

Waiting for our speedboat!
Wait...where's my life jacket???

Look at the clear water💓

First stop; Khai Noi Island

Had our lunch here!

So, basically we spent a whole day at the beach. We got back soooooo tired and we all slept early.

DAY 3

It's day 3 already and we were planning to do some shopping💄👛 a.k.a. our therapy💆 hehe. We went to a famous shopping center in Phuket where they sell branded items. It is called JUNGCEYLON. Click here to know more about the shopping center. I bought a lot of things there and of course, not just for me, but also some souvenirs for my friends💚

Shades on because it was scorching hot!

We went to Jungceylon by walking

Gotta need a family selfie in the blog!

Dinner time!:
On Thursdays, we wear dress
Yumzies!😋
As we were eating, trucks like these keep on coming;

DAY 4(last day😢)

We had no plans on the last day so we just go to some souvenir shops to find something. Mama bought a lots of Thai silk likeee so manyyy. We also went to a mosque to perform Zuhur prayer. It was quite far which took us 15 minutes of walking to reach there, but I think it was worth it😊

It was Friday, so the Thai Muslims performed their Friday prayer since that is their obligation as a Muslim. What so amazing is that, their khutbah was given in Thai language!

Not longer than, my tummy was grmbled. We were so hungry because we only ate some bread for breakfast since that was the only halal food at the buffet :")

It was very hard to find a halal restaurant in Thailand, but then, we found one. It is just a stone's throw away from the mosque. The restaurant got that vintage look and the colours made me feel so warm💓

The outside view from my seat

After we had our meal, we went back to our hotel because our driver was waiting already. We didn't walk back, but instead we rode a Tuk Tuk! In thailand, their taxis are called Tuk Tuk. It looks like a min van, but is more open.

Time to get back to Malaysia. The first thing to do when I come to Malaysia on my mind is to eat kuey teow! I've been craving for it for 4 days!😭

On our way to Phuket International Airport:

Look who's sad to leave Phuket?😛

At the aiport:

Walk and walk and walk

We arrived safely at Malaysia at 10 p.m.. I really did eat kuey teow and that made my night even though I'm tired.
In a nutshell, it was an amazing holiday, so I would call it holi-YAY! Overall, everything was good about Phuket, except for the food. I would love to come there again in the future💜💛

A HUGE inspiration of mine

Ola!

So, last weekend I had an appointment with a well-known orthopaedic surgeon, regarding to my spine. It was just a follow up check up and I had to do an X-ray. Don't worry, everything was fine.😊

I went to Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara since it is the nearest to my house. Actually, the original name was Tropicana Medical Centre but since it has changed after its rebranding ceremony in July due to a new shareholder. And me being me, I'm so lame because I just knew about it last weekend. *sighs*

To be honest, I was quite scared to see the doctor because I've had an experience of getting scolded by a doctor when I was little. She was mad because I was crying😂 And, until that, it affected me till now haha.

His own room

That scared-but-tryna-hide-that-scaredy-face of mine

So readers, here he is, the thoroughly business-like and methodical orthopaedic specialist that I met:

DATUK DR.JOSEPH

Here's a little bit of his biodata:

Name : Datuk Dr. Joseph Yap Chong Kiat

Designation : Consultant Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgeon

Specialty : Orthopaedic Surgery

Qualification : MBBS(Malaya), FCRS(Edinburgh), FCRS, RCPS(Glasgow), AM(Mall), AO Fellowship(Canada)

Want to know more about him? Click here!

After about 10 minutes of waiting, finally a nurse came out from the doctor's room.

"Sofea Hanna, please come in"

I could admit, that was one of the scariest moments in my life.

Then, I took a deep breathe and came in.

The first impression of mine towards him was "Why does he looks so stern.."

I couldn't describe how fast was my heart beating. I sat on the chair provided, and just looked down.

My heart could probably beats faster than this😩

Then, he asked me how was my spine doing. He asked me a few questions and to my surprise, he even made some jokes that I could even burst into tears! No joke people!

His explanations about my spine was so clear and so understandable. The way how he explains it makes me feel like to be an orthopaedic specialist just like him! He is able to absorb people's pain an anxieties without losing focus and treats patients as a human being rather than a symptom. As a doctor, he is able to communicate well with his patients which create a good doctor-patient relationship and so make the patients stay in hospital more comfortable. Not to forget, his friendliness makes me feel to just let out what's on my mind!

All in all, I could say he is a really good doctor! Not the 2017 The Good Doctor American drama series where you have that handsome Shaun Murphy😍. Ayyy nope girlies. It feels like giving him The Best Doctor award ehehe. He deserves to achieve all the Medicine Award. For example, Albany Medical Center Prize, William Allan Award and APUA Leadership Award.

*Drum Rolls*

Datuk Dr. Joseph Yap Chong Kiat!

Dear doctor, if you're reading this(it might be impossible but who knows?😝), please know that I really admire you. You are my inspiration to be a good doctor like you😊 Thank you for helping me out and wishing you all the best in the future! Stay cool and awesome Dr. Joseph!

Here's a trophy from me to you:

I'm signing off now because my pizza is already waiting for me hehe. Bye!

TOXIC PEOPLE? BE CAREFUL!

Hi everyone! 😃💜
Welcome back. It's already 1.17 a.m. but I still can't sleep. So, blogging it is.

Recently, I helped a friend of mine. She was having problem on dealing with her toxic friends. I think this topic is quite popular, especially among teenagers like us. So, I think it is important for everyone to able to recognise and deal with toxic people/friends. I'm just tryna help ;D

TOXIC PEOPLE💀

Do you know a toxic person? Even if you don't know, at some point in your life you're bound to have to come across a person who fits the description. Dealing with toxic people can be difficult and draining. In fact, it may challenge what you know about yourself and push you to the limits. I mean like, everybody deserves to have people in their lives that they enjoy spending time with, who supports them and who they love hanging out with. Am I right?🌻

So here's some traits to help you guys to recognise toxic people:

#1:The Straight Jacket💼

Their modus operandi is to get people to do what they want them to do. It's ALL ABOUT THEM. They use other people to accomplish whatever their goal happens to be. They want to be in charge of what you do, say and even what you think! Urgh annoying right😒? You know the person I'm talking about, they freak out when you disagree with them and won't stop trying to convince you that they are right. Be careful, these people will go after your mental freedom. Get out while you can!⌛

#2:The Spiritual Vampire👻

They are known as spiritual vampire because they tend to suck the positivity out of you or bleed you emotionally dry. These are the kinds of people who always have something sad and negative➖ to say. They can never see the positive➕ and tend to bring everyone down with them. If you're with someone and they only have bad things to say whenever you see them, watch out, it might not get better.

#3:The Drama Magnet🎭

I call them Drama Magnet because some toxic people are magnets for drama. Something is always wrong. And of course, once a problem is solved, another one comes. Trust me, they only want you empathy, sympathy and support(but not your advice! LOL) You offer help and solutions, but they never seem to want to fix anything. But instead, they complain and complain just like 'makcik makcik bawang' haha. And you know what? They are being like that just to make them feel important.😑

#4:A JJ (sounds cute right?😜)

My friends and I can spot a JJ from a mile away and I want to show you how to as well. A JJ is a Jealous-Judgmental person. Jealous people are incredibly toxic because they have so much internal self-hate that they can't be happy for anyone around them. And typically, their jealousy turns out to judgment, criticism or gossip. for them, everyone else is not cool or more proper, lacking in some way. If someone starts jealously gossiping with you about other people, watch out. This might be a toxic person.(you never know what they say about you behind your back anyways😞)

#5:The 'Storyteller'📖

I had a lot of liars in my life before I learned how to spot liars .Liars, fibbers, exaggerators... it's exhausting to have a toxic false storyteller in your life. Whether they tell little falsehoods or major lies, it's impossible to trust a liar in a relationship. Dishonesty drains us because we constantly are doubting their words. If your instinct is ringing alarm bells🔔, then get out before you're lied to.

HOW TO DEAL WITH TOXICITY

Did someone pop into your head as I explained these toxic personality types? Do you feel:

You dread seeing them?

You get angry, sad or depressed when you are around them?

You feel like you have to impress them all the time?

You are covering up or hiding for them?

You're affected by their drama and problems?

Here's what you can do:

--> Move on without them👣

If you are suffering with their toxic attitude, then ask yourself, 'Do I need this person in my life?" When you delete toxic people from your environment, it becomes a lot easier to breathe. Just leave these freakin' people behind and move on when you must. Seriously, be strong💪 and know when enough is enough! Letting go of toxic people doesn't mean you hate them, it simply means you care about your own well-being.😉

--> SPEAK UP!🔈🔉🔊

Some people will do anything for their own personal gain. Do not accept this behavior. What I can see is that people tend to keep quiet until one person speaks up, so SPEAK UP. They might be surprised that you've trespassed onto their behavioral territory, but you must speak up anyways. You might say;
  • "I've noticed you seem angry. Is something upsetting you?"
  • "I think you look bored. Do you think what I'm saying is unimportant?"
  • "Your attitude is upsetting me right now. Is that what you want?"
Let them get burned by your words gurllll🔥🔥!

-->Put your foot down👤

Show that you won't be insulted. To be honest, I never really act that nice to those toxic people who insulted me. The best response I've received is a snarky, "I'm sorry you took what I said so personally." Nah, the worst case scenario is just the ending with sickening sweetness. The message is clear. There is no reward for subtle digs and no games will be played at your end.🎮🚫

--> Take time for yourself🍵

If your are forced to live with a toxic person, then make sure you get enough alone time to relax and rest. Having to play the role of a "focused" human in the face of toxic moodiness can be exhausting. If you're not careful, the toxicity can affect you. You can politely excuse yourself when you need to ;)

You deserve to think peacefully, free from external pressure and toxic behavior. No problems to solve, boundaries to uphold, or personalities to please. Sometimes you need to make time for yourself, away from the busy world you live in that doesn't make time for you.

Dealing with toxic people is not easy

And these coping mechanisms aren't developed overnight. You deserve to have wonderful, supportive and loving people in your life🌈. In fact, life is too short to spend time with people who don't help you to be your best self. I hope this will help you guys as your immunisation against toxic people!
