THE UNITY ATTACK๐Ÿ˜”

15 MARCH 2019

It was one fine Friday. It was a bright day, the green grass glistened in the sun which was blazing in the cloudless sky. Friday is known as a holy day to Muslims. It is more significant and more beneficial than any other day of the week. It is the day Muslims gather together to pray in congregation. Friday is also the day which one of the greatest verses in the Quran was revealed.

"This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favor upon you, and I have chosen Islam as your religion." (Quran 5:3)

I was at school that particular Friday, getting ready to perform Maghrib prayer when suddenly I saw my friend Khadijah broke into tears.

I came to her and she told me about the Christchurch mosque shooting.

We had no smartphones so we kinda feel lame and left behind when it comes to current issues.๐Ÿ˜•

She used to live in New Zealand before, specifically Christchurch because her mom was having MASTERS education there. She knows almost everyone that died because of the shooting. One of her close childhood friends, Sayyad Milne, 14 years old was performing his Friday prayers was one of the victims affected by this mass shooting.

This was the photo of Sayyad that Khadijah showed to us
The Christchurch mosque shootings were two consecutive terrorist attacks at mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, during Friday Prayer on 15 March 2019. The attacks began at the Al Noor Mosque in the suburb of Riccarton at 1.40 pm, and continued at the Linwood Islamic Centre at about 1.55 pm. The gunman live-streamed the first attack on Facebook Live.

The attacks killed 50 people and injured 50 others. A 28-year-old Australian man, described in media reports as a white supremacist and part of the alt-right, was arrested and charged with murder. Politicians and world leaders condemned the attacks.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern called it one of New Zealand's "darkest days."

It is the deadliest mass shooting in modern New Zealand history. It has rekindled memories of the last tragedy to hit Christchurch.

Al Noor Mosque, where 42 people were killed.

I was touched when I knew that people in New Zealand held vigils and laid flowers at the mosques all around the country in tribute to 50 victims of the attack

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ˜”

Students in New Zealand also paid a moving tribute to two of their peers who died in the in the Christchurch shooting. They performed a haka, a ceremonial Maori dance, to mourn the victims and honour the dead.

I honestly lost for words when Khadijah told me about this. People have been reduced to killing each other, and this make me feel sick. I can't even begin to comprehend why would someone commit such an inhumane act and hast the guts to also mainstream it? ๐Ÿ˜ข

What has this world come to?

My deep condolences to the victims of the cold blooded terrorist attack. What a sad and shameful day for humanity..

;)

Dear killer,
You can kill Muslims but you cannot kill Islam. Islam is the religion of peace, love and tolerance.

We will not be afraid
We will not lose hope
We will continue going to our mosques
Our faith will get stronger
We will remain united
We will bow down only to Allah

Terrorism has no religion
Extremist has no place in the earth

Assalmualaikum,

GET SPORTY, BE HEALTHY! ๐Ÿ˜‰✨

Hello awesome readers!❤

After a few hectic weeks that felt like months, I'm finally at home now in conjunction with the mid-term break 1 school holiday. Yeay! \(^0^)/

Current mood:blogging๐Ÿ’ป + eating popcorn๐Ÿฟ

Last week, we just finished our annual sports day known as 'KeJoRa' which actually stands for Kejohanan Olahraga MRSM Tun Abdul Razak.Every each one of us,including teachers and staffs were divided randomly into 4 houses regardless of any forms.

We have 4 sport houses:
  • VALIANT
  • LEGACY
  • ORION
  • LEGEND
and my sport house is LEGACY! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™

We used to have ERUDITE and EXTREME, but they were already disbanded for some reasons :/

A few weeks before KEJORA, we had a 'sukantara' event where everybody has to be involved. 4 events were held which are 100m, 200m, shot put and long jump. Marks will be collected from the contributions of a single person from that house. Everyone needed to do the event within the targeted time or target to collect points. 2 points will be given to each person who passed the target. But if they didn't pass, they will still contribute 1 point to their sport house. LEGEND was in top spot, followed by LEGACY but the mark difference was too big to catch up :(

Going up to KEJORA, all I could say is that it was one of the most tiring weeks I've had.  Everyone was busy preparing for the parade, tent decoration and athletes for the sporting events. This year's theme is floral and LEGACY was a mix of Avatar and flowers. ๐Ÿ”ท๐ŸŒธ

Here are some pictures where we got the ideas from:

The real final day was on Friday. Just imagine all sports event being wrapped up IN JUST ONE DAY. Unlike previous years, it took 3 days for the whole KEJORA. Hm, but it's okay. Every cloud has a silver lining, even though it was super tiring, I guess it's better giving all out of your energy in one day rather than skipping 3 days classes. Plus, you have SPM this year Sofea! Wake up!⏰๐Ÿ“–

I participated in 3 events which are 8oom,1500m and 4 x 400m relay race๐Ÿƒ‍♀️๐Ÿ’จ. I had to choose the events wisely so that I know how long the gaps are between every events because i do...need...rest...(since all of my events are categorised as long distance run ๐Ÿ˜ช)

So,,everything went well hehe๐Ÿ˜Š

We started at 7.45 a.m. but the weather was sultry and terrible. It was so hazy and the very first event was 1500m. Imagine running around the track for 1500m while inhaling haze. Gosh, only God knows how suffocated I was. My luck, I managed to get 1st place :) Then, for 800m, I sped up the fastest I could during the last lap and placed myself for the 1st place yeay!

2 gold medals for me yeay! ๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿฅ‡

Here comes the sad part;
4 x 400m relay was held at 3.00p.m.. So we had time to rest before the event. I was the second runner and I was ready to receive the baton from our first runner. When just a few steps more to reach me, suddenly the first runner fell down and she was sort of having stroke. Me and teammates felt so disappointed but what can we do, things happened already :/

Overall, LEGEND is this year's champion๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŽ‰. It was a bit shocking because LEGEND have never won KEJORA before. All my past years in MRSM Tun Abdul Razak, the champion is always VALIANT. Plus, they always have that kind of winning aura.

At the end of the day, I was still happy and proud of myself. I really enjoyed the last KEJORA of my life. All my hard work including daily training, diet(I didn't eat spicy food and icy drinks for the sake of maintaining stamina) and strong self-mentality๐Ÿ’ก. I couldn't make this through without the help of my family and friends. Love all of them!

Here are some photos during KEJORA;

L for LEGACY!!!๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™
