Spread Kindnesssss

Spreading Kindness :)

Hi! i feel like sharing something nice that could make up your day. So, this story below is from someone who wrote in  a blog. It's not wrong sharing wonderful stories is it?

-5 Love Notes to my Grandmother (by tesa)-
I was just in France to visit my grand-mother who is very dear to me. I don’t get to cross the Atlantic very often, and she’s now 96 year old, so every time I go visit, the two of us are very aware that it might be the last time we see each other.

Last time I visited her in December of 2004, I did a series of short video interviews about her life. I asked her what it was like to grow up with her father in the 1910s (her mother died during labor), to live through the German occupation alone with two young children with a husband away in a prisoners' camp in Germany. I asked her about her greatest memories and life learnings so far, her favorite books, foods, stories. I also asked her about her spirituality and her thoughts about death. I learned a lot of amazing new things about her I never knew before. These were very intimate conversations and a very special time for both of us.

This year, I did not really have questions, only a great urge for her to know how loved she is. I cooked for her, and read her stories. I gave her a foot massage, which I was amazed to discover was her first ever!

Before leaving, I was looking for a way to leave something meaningful
to behind besides the memory of our time together. So I wrote her five different love and gratitude notes to let her know how much she means to me, and hid them in different places where I knew she would eventually find them… One under the sheets, on her pillow. Another one hanging from the lamp shade by which she reads in the evening. Another one by her toothbrush. One in her mailbox which she eagerly checks every day. And a last one on her car’s steering wheel (she still drives to the nearby village a couple of times a week to run errands!).

I left really joyous knowing that these cards would surely cheer her up after I left (she lives by herself). She called me as I was traveling back to Paris to catch my plane back to the US and said (in French of course): “I found your three cards! By the time I discovered the third, I was laughing out loud! They did me so much good. Thank you so much!” I smiled to myself, knowing she still had two more to go! It was Sunday, so my guess is that she had not checked her mailbox and had not yet driven her car!

As I was sitting on the plane back to the United States, I remembered that one of my friends' guiding principles is to treat everyone like family, and so I was thinking about ways to practice that in different settings, including on a plane ride. I decided that on my next flight, I would bring and write five anonymous appreciation cards for different people on the plane, including the pilot who probably does not get thanked enough for taking us safely to our destination.

-Rescuing Dash-9, an Orphanage Dog-
I don't know how others will respond to my first story, but I do know that it was something I was compelled to do, regardless if the recipient was "only a dog".
I work for the railroad, which can be a very dangerous place.  It is also usually located in the poorest of neighborhoods.  Unfortunately, we often see homeless, hungry animals hanging around looking for scraps of food.  Often, they are large, scary-loooking dogs who end up at the pound.
For the last few weeks there has been a rather large, red dog who has been hanging around with an obvious leg injury.  He was scared and would not come near any of us.  Each day I came to work I would talk to him, toss him a bite to eat and go about my business.  After about two weeks of this, this wonderful creature saw me arrive at work one evening and bolted straight for me!!  I must admit I was a bit frightened at first, now knowing what his intentions were, but I was soon to find out.  He came straight up to me, lunged at me and began showing me his love and affection in the only way he knew how..........wonderful and powerful kisses (okay, licks...LOL).
All I had with me at the time were some cans of cat food in the back of my truck, but I felt it was better than nothing, so I opened them up and filled his tummy.  I also offered him some clean water, which from the looks of him I was pretty sure he hadn't had in a while.  Amazingly enough, this little act changed this dog in a way I could only imagine.  He followed me around the yard for the rest of the night, which was kind of scary, as it can be a dangerous place, as I said.  When I got up on the engine to work, he stayed on the ground looking up at me and howling like he had lost his best friend.  I finally had to go back down and take him to safety across the tracks.  I made him a cardboard bed and, believe it or not, he layed there like he knew what I had done for him.  And yes, he waited my entire shift for me to return.
Now, for my dilemma.  I knew this guy needed a home and medical treatment.  However, I have 5 cats, two dogs and a 3 yr old grandson.  Not knowing this dog, personally, how could I risk the safety of my family at home for a stray?  I knew I could not, but it was breaking my heart to leave him there.  Call it my "mom" instincts but I knew this guy really would make a good companion for someone, I just wasn't sure it would be me.
By the end of the next day, several of my co-workers came to me and were flabbergasted that I had "made friends" with this dog.  Not only that, but he was also beginning to trust the guys I worked with and was showing to be very loving and playful.  They were amazed.  And even more amazing, there were more than one of them who were willing to take this wonderful dog we had labeled as "Dash-9" (it's a type of locomotive) into their hearts and homes.
I am happy to say that "Dash" is now being treated for his injured leg and being lovingly nurtured and nursed back to health.  And I know that he will "pay it forward" by being a devoted and loving pet in his new home.

I hope those two amazing stories will make up your day. Look, even a small act can lead to more karma points. Come! Lets spread POSITIVITY and become better person! πŸ’“πŸ’ŸπŸ’˜πŸ’—πŸ’•πŸ’œπŸ’πŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ’š

Cats!

My sister and I have always wanted a pet cat. We once adopted a kitten that came alone to our house and named her snowy because her fur is as white as snow☃ Unfortunately, we only kept her for few days before she passed away. According to the vet, Snowy still needs her mother's milk because she's too young to churn up other food and milk. We were very sad knowing that she died :""(

That was 7 years ago. And now, look! I have we already have a pet cat after years trying to persuade my mom to keep a cat hehe. We call him Niko. He is an asian breed cat but with mid-long fur. Guess he is a mix!πŸ™†πŸˆ He is very very very playful and is very abstinence to see something moving or he'll chase it until he gets it.

He loves being stroked by people and is very indulgent. He is like the spoiled brat in our family. He is pampered especially by my father. He likes having a walk outside and make new friends.

I still remember the day when he wanted to go out so much so we decided to let him go. We knew he would find his way home back then. But after hours of Niko outside, we were worried. We started to think that Niko is lost or couldn't find his way home. It was night already but we were willing to search for Niko. We went until the next 5 houses from our house just to find him. We tried using catnips as a bait to find him but still, there was no signs of Niko. After about an hour, finally he came from my neighbor's house. -_- and got back home just to eat. But nevermind, we still love Niko <3

Actually, we got him back with a partner, which is his sibling. A cute, white-furred kitten named Cotton. Sadly, she died a few weeks ago due to chemical poisoning. She likes to play under dad's car and I bet those chemicals she got came from there. At the time Cotton was sick, she didn;t play much as Niko did. They usually play together and chase each other. But Cotton seemed so weak and we started worrying so we brought her to the vet. Cotton had to stay there for her treatment. A few days we came back to know how she's doing. The time the vet told us she's been poisoned, I was lost for words. I was just so sad. Very sad. The vet said the chances of Cotton to live is very thin and he couldn;t even promise us. So, throughout Cotton staying at the vet, we visited her every evening. As day passes by, i could see she was getting weeker. She can barely move and just mewed to us. The way she mewed was the saddest thing I saw. She was like telling us how hurt she was suffering. There was yellow spots all over her body especially at her ears and nose. Those spots got more obvious day by day.

A few days later, we went to the vet in the evening,as usual. When we came, the vet told us that Cotton just died like literally a few minutes before we came. The vet was about to call my dad but then we came. I couldn't believe it and was very heartbroken. I couldn't take it and my tears started to fall down continuously. And then, went back home with a frown.

But I think back and thought that it's better for Cotton to leave so she won't suffer more. So she could go peacefully. I'm sure that everything happens for a reason. And now, Niko has no partner to play with at home. I really miss Cotton. So much.

A visit to Penang ^0^

A VISIT TO PENANGπŸŒ‰✨

Last weekend,my family and I went to Penang. It was a long journey and so we started off at 3.00 p.m. and drove along busy roads. On the way, we passed rubber plantations and tin mines. I was interested in the scenery as we study about these industries in our Geography lessons in school. There was a heavy traffic and we were stucked for about 7 hours on the road. Finally, we crossed over to Penang by ferry and reached our seaside hotel at Batu Ferringhi. I loved the blue sea with its gentle waves sparkling in the sun. The coconut palms swayed gracefully in the breeze as though to welcome us.

Apparently,my mother booked the hotel for only a night, but somehow we thought two days is not enough to discover the beauty of Penang so she extended for another one night. As soon as we arrived, we went to the famous Original Kayu Nasi Kandar in Penang. It was already 11.00 p.m. but people were still lining up for food! The food was scrumptious!  It's not like the ordinary Nasi Kandar I have tasted and I think it's worth the 20 minutes queue. Here's some of the places we visited in Penang;

  • Dark Mansion Penang
It is the first and only 3D glow in the dark museum in Malaysia. The entrance fee per person is RM25 and the place is very cool and colourful!

  •  Art Street Penang
Other than the bridge and the food, Penang is also known for its beautiful street arts. Thanks to the awesome efforts of Lithuanian artist, Ernest Zacharevic, Penang Street Art artist, Penang is full with wonderful street arts. The artworks are funny, fascinating, and very much open to everyone’s interpretations. Along walking at Georgetown, the artworks can be found almost every path we go. Everyone of us had our phones inside our hand to get ready for some cool shots! πŸ“±πŸ’₯πŸ“·

One of Penang's famous street art

It's papa!

  •      Queensbay  Mall!πŸ‘œπŸ‘πŸ‘

Queensbay Mall, one of the finest shopping malls in Penang Island, is located in the heart of Bayan Lepas. The mall features 5 retail levels of international and home-grown brands including fashion, lifestyle, dining, entertainment, sports, electronics, home furnishing and department store. We had our dinner there that night. The mall is enormously HUGE! even the parking lot has 7 floors!😱

  • Hard Rock Cafe Penang🎸

We walk through the shops and bought myself a t-shirt. It's really hard to choose which one because all of the designs are very very very nice!😍 Then, we had our lunch at Hard Rock Cafe. The cafe is very stylish and sophisticated. There's a stage with drums, multiple screens and even a Triumph Bonneville Motorcycle! I love the workers there. Very friendly. I ordered fish and chips for lunch and it was scrumptios! perfecto! Mama and papa knew the price was a little expensive, but for us, they are willing to bend over backwards just to make us  happy.

It's very nice!

After that, we head towards home. Unfortunantely, the traffic was heavier than our route going to Penang. The situation becomes worse when it rained cats and dogs. We went off at around 4.00 p.m. and arrived home at 11.00 p.m. . Everyone was very exhausted, but indeed we had a wonderfull time together :)

GLOBAL ISSUES :0

GLOBAL ISSUES

My biggest concern among these global issues is global warming. This problem has gotten more serious as time passes by. It seems as if only a small fraction of community realize this and took the matter into their hands.

So,, what is global warming?

Global warming is a gradual process of heating of earth’s surface and whole environment including oceans, ice caps, etc. The global rise in atmospheric temperature has been clearly noticed in the recent years. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, in the past century there is increase in the earth’s surface average temperature by around 1.4 degree Fahrenheit (means 0.8 degrees Celsius). It has also been estimated that global temperature may increase by another 2 to 11.5 degrees F in the next century.

But what causes global warming?

  • Increase of greenhouse gases

The greenhouse effect is the process by which radiation from a planet's atmosphere warms the planet's surface to a temperature above what it would be without its atmosphere.
If a planet's atmosphere contains radiatively active gases for example carbon dioxide, methane. water vapour and CFCs, they will radiate energy in all directions. Part of this radiation is directed towards the surface, warming it. The intensity of the downward radiation – that is, the strength of the greenhouse effect – will depend on the atmosphere's temperature and on the amount of greenhouse gases that the atmosphere contains.

  • Ozone Depletion

Ozone layer is declining day by day by increasing release of chlorofluorocarbon gas. It is a human generated cause of global warming. Chlorofluorocarbon gas is used at many places as aerosol propellants in the industrial cleaning fluids and in the refrigerators, the gradual release of which causes declination to the ozone layer in the atmosphere.
Ozone layer causes protection to the earth surface by inhibiting the harmful sun rays to coming to the earth. However, gradually declining ozone layer is the big indication of increasing global warming of the earth surface. Harmful ultraviolet sun rays are entering to the biosphere and get absorbed by the green houses gases which ultimately increase the global warming. According to the statistics, it has been estimated that the size of ozone hole has been twice the size of Antarctica (more than 25 million km2) by 2000. There is no any clear trend of ozone layer declination in the winter or summer seasons.
  • Presence of various aerosols in the atmosphere
Atmospheric aerosols are fully capable to scatter (causes cooling to the planet) and absorb (makes air warm) the solar and infrared radiations. They are also capable to change the microphysical and chemical properties of the clouds and possibly their lifetime and extent. The increasing amount of aerosols in the atmosphere is because of human contribution. Dust is produced by agriculture, organic droplets and soot particles are produced by biomass burning, and aerosols are produced by the industrial processes through the burning of wide variety of products in the manufacturing process. Various emissions by means of transport generate different pollutants which get converted to the aerosols through many chemical reactions in the atmosphere.

If this problem continues, our world would be in danger😰😱. This problem has to be taken seriously. There are a few consequences that we might face through global warming:

1. Climate Change: The world’s is becoming warmer and warmer. There is also prediction of regional climate changes along the ecosystem.
2. Sea Level Change: Four major changes take place prior to this. They are: Thermal expansion, mountain glacier melting, Greenland ice sheet melting and Polar (Arctic and Antarctic) ice sheet melting. Thus, the coastal cities and ports may be submerged under sea-water. Many islands may vanish from the earth surface as well as from the world map.
3. Water Balance: Although changes in sea-level have received much publicity, problems of water availability are likely to be more serious and perhaps more expensive to solve. In future, warmer world will face water crisis in some parts while in other regions it will be wetter than it is now..
4. Human Health: The human health is put at risk because of Global warming. In recent years, there have been newer reports of spread of major tropical diseases with changing climate. As the earth becomes warmer, more and more people are likely to be affected by tropical diseases.

IS THERE ANYTHING WE CAN DO TO HELP PREVENT GLOBAL WARMING?πŸ”₯😰

YES, WE DO.

  •  We should start planting trees🌳🌲
Trees absorb carbon dioxide and releases oxygen. So, more trees will result a more efficient gas exchange. Trees are helpful in reducing the problem of global warming. Parents should train their children to value nature since their small. As for the school, I think they can organize a campaign to raise awareness on the decreasing figures of trees globally.

  • Carpooling!!!πŸš—
We can share our car while going to office or performing other scheduled activities. On one hand, we will save money, and on the other, we will emit less greenhouse gases. No need to worry if you can't carpool on anybody's car, u sure can use public transports like busses, trains and taxis!πŸšŒπŸš…πŸš•

  • Reduction in thermal power generating stations.
Reduced dependence on thermal power for our electricity need would help towards reducing the quantity if carbon dioxide in the environment. The use of fossil fuels for generating conventional energy is a major of greenhouse gases.Instead of using electrical energy we should try using clean energy or energy produced by solar system, wind and geothermal.✅πŸ’―

  •  Use less hot water!
                                                                       What???
Yup. Set your water heater at a lower tempreture to save energy and buy low-flow showerheads to save hot water and about 350 pounds of carbon dioxide yearly. Wash your clothes in warm or cold water to reduce your use of hot water and the energy required to produce it. πŸ‘•πŸ‘š

In a nutshell, I have understood that our earth is "sick". We humans need to "heal" the earth. Global Warming have causes many problem for human but we human who make global warming happens. Many people have died because of disease or disaster. It also affects the economics of the country. Our generation should start taking care of the earth because in the next generation they will suffer if we do not do reduce global warming. Therefore, global warming is a serious issue now. So, everybody has to make a move in order to create a better future and atmosphere!πŸŒπŸ‘

All about Koreaaa

ALL ABOUT KOREA!

Since I have the access to the internet, I love to surf the internet and search for things I like. I enjoy searching and learning for beautiful places in the world. So, during this school holiday, I've been exploring Korea! (just in the internet huhu). I've always wanted to go to Korea since I was little. Probably because of the korean drama 'Winter Sonata' that took place at Nami Island hehe..
So, here's some of what I've found:

Seoul top sights:
  • Gyeongbokgung (a very nice museum!)
  • N Seoul Tower
  • Lotte World (seems like Disneyland~)
  • Cheonggyecheon
  • Seoul Forest
  • Grevin Seoul (wax museum)
  • aaaand many more!

Lotte World

Seoul Forest

Lotte World is a major recreation complex in Seoul, South Korea. It consists of the world's largest indoor theme park (a Guinness World Record), an outdoor amusement park called "Magic Island", an artificial island inside a lake linked by monorailshopping malls, a luxury hotel, a Korean folk museum, sports facilities, and movie theaters. Opened on July 12, 1989, Lotte World receives 7.3 million visitors each year.

It is the third largest park in Seoul city.Seoul Forest is a massive park dotted with over 400,000 trees and 100 different animals. This nature park is located in Seongsu-dong and covers an area of 1,200,000 m². The area that was once a royal hunting forest, became Seoul's first water purification plant in 1908, and later used for both racecourse and golf facilities. Now, it has been transformed into a park with a dense canopy of trees and a lake, where citizen can breathe the invigorating fresh air offered by nature.

Busan Top Sights:

  • Haeundae Beach
  • Oryukdo (rocky island, scenic water views)
  • Gamcheon Culture Village (colourful houses + houses!!!)
  • Ganjeolgot *a seaside resort*
  • Samnak Ecological Resort
Haeundae Beach
Gamcheon Culture Village

The beach is popular with Korean tourists, although it has recently seen an afflux or foreign tourists, from China, Japan and Western countries. The beach and surrounding area is particularly crowded during the summer months of July and August. Amongst the sights of Haeundae are Dongbaekseom, at the West end of the beach, which is a popular fishing area.

Picturesque attraction featuring a village of colorful houses, painted murals, shops & cafes. This place is just so cute!!!πŸ˜πŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ’œ

Jeju Top Sights:
  • Jusangjeolli (stone pillars that pile up along the coast)
  • Jeongbang Waterfall
  • Haenyeo Museum
  • Seongeup Folk Museum
  • Camellia Hill (there are over 600 kinds of camellia on this hill!)
  • Hallasan (has a unique volcanic topography😍)

Jusangjeolli

The Jusangjeolli (μ£Όμƒμ ˆλ¦¬, columnar jointing) cliff is a spectacular volcanic rock formation at the southern coast of Jeju IslandSouth Korea. It is similar to the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland.

Camellia Hill

Opened in 1979, this year-round arboretum on 20 hectares offers many camellia & other plant species.

The flowers are sooo beautiful!!!πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸŒ·πŸŒΈπŸŒΉπŸŒΊπŸŒ²πŸŒ³πŸŒ±

There are many more places in Korea and I'm still learning more about Korea. I wish I can visit Korea one day. It is really a wonderful place to escape from problems because I'm positive those attractions can turn someone's frown upside down!😊

Holiday For FUN! :D

 HOLIDAY FOR FUN! ✌πŸ’œ

So,i feel like my holidays were well spent. Turns out, i became more productive than i anticipated! My holidays were full of activities and events. Just in two months, i had learned to cook a LOT of recipes. From homemade fried chicken to 'ayam masak merah'.I didn't expect i could cook dishes like that. Before this, I can only make scrambled eggs πŸ™Šhehe.

So, here's some of the menu that my sister and I have tried out;
  • Stir fried beef and broccoli
  • 'Telur  bistik'
  • Fishball soup
  • Homemade fried chicken
  • Balinese style chicken
  • Ayam masak merah
  • aaaand many more..! (can't remember because there's too much!)
Originally, it was our lunch but we cooked a bit extra so our parents could taste it when they got back home from work. Believe it or nothey liked it so much!πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ My sister and I was a little bit scared when we served it to our parents for the first time. We thought that we might under or overcooked those dishes. Apparently, it turned out differently. We were over the moon and were very proud of ourselves.

Every night, my sister and I will search simple recipes in advance as preparation  for the next day's lunch. As beginners, we tend to make mistakes here and there. During our first time making 'telur dadar', we ended up with a super greasy one. Plus, we forgot to add some salt so it was tasteless. We also burnt the beef during our first time cooking it. We didn't realize that we left it too long in the pot on high heat. Nevertheless, as days passes by, we kept practicing and we are now able to cook better. With all that happened, getting burned by hot oil droplets is a normal thing already. Despite being tired cooking, i really enjoy cooking and I'm positive it has now become one of my hobbies. I'm looking forward to cook more even when the school holidays have ended. I wish, one day I'll own a well-known restaurant.

Expectation ( the dish was far from this in reality heheπŸ˜… )

ALLL ABOUT ME!

Hello :D
                All About Me!
             \(^0^)/

  • NAME : SOFEA HANNA BINTI ROZAIDIN
  • AGE     : 15
  • DATE OF BIRTH: 11th APRIL 2002
  • WHERE DO I LIVE: PETALING JAYA, SELANGOR
  • CURRENTLY STUDYING AT : MRSM TUN ABDUL RAZAK :)
  • MY  VOCATION : CHEMICAL ENGINEER / NEUROSURGEON / etc...still figuring out hehe
That's a brief introduction of myself. i would like to elaborate on how i spend my free time. I read, watch movies, jog and travelling. The wonderful thing about reading is that I do not have to learn things the hard way. And I do feel calm when reading.

I love to watch movies. My family too. Most of the time, my parent will buy mid night ticket just for the fun of it. I guess they must really love me as that is the time, where their focus is on me. The profession where both my parents are working in requires them to prepare reports and etc, which in turn takes a lot of their time.

But back to the movies...tonight, i will be watching "Jumanji-Welcome To The Jungle"...wohoo!!! Both Rotten tomato and  IMDB are rated high. Guess i need to find it for myself. I have this little feeling that it might be better than in the 1995's since Nick Jonas is one of the cast!

Travelling makes me feel because I can escape from life.I travel for adventure. I enjoy trying out new things so I can feel a sense of accomplishment. And I  love return home with the best souvenir of all: a memory of your incredible adventure.
πŸ˜ƒπŸ’–⛱⛴⛵✈✉☎πŸ’Ί

I have interest towards Manchester United. I follow and watch their matches. Some of my friends find it weird, but I don't think it is. I don't think it is wrong for girls to like football. I just think that football is a cool thing(especially the players hehe). My favourite player in Man Utd team was Cristiano Ronaldo, before he left the team for Real Madrid. As for now, my star of the team is David De Gea. He is the team's goalkeeper and he had done very well. I just love seeing him saving goals. The way he saves a goal is just so amazing!!! He is known with the #DaveSaves given by people when he saves a goal from the opponent team. During the Premier League that starts from early of November, David was stated as the best goalkeeper so far since he saved 69 goals!Whoa. That's just amazing.

David De Gea

Besides, I also have interest towards Bath & Body Works' Pocketbacs.
They are hand sanitizers. They smell very nice and the scents are long lasting, not like usual hand sanitizers. I love collecting them. It just makes me feel clean and fresh whenever i wear them. Purchasing those pocketbacs are not really a waste of money because they make sure our hands are free from bacteria. So, i'm positive it is worth the price. In addition, they are usually sold in promotions like 5 for RM40 or 3 for RM26 because 1 bottle is for RM10.

Le Familie~

I have a happy family consisting of four members, namely my lovely father, mother and a sister. My father's name is Rozaidin bin Jaafar and is 44 years old. He is currently attached to one of the GLC companies in Selangor. He is a very hardworking person. I am amazed by his spirit to earn a living for our family just to make us live comfortable. My mother's name is Mimi Azura and she is 43 years old. She is a very loving person and owns a heart of gold. She never doubt to help people who are poor. I’m thankful that mom and dad can divide with their children despite busy work. Thanks mom and dad. I promise to be a good and successful person in life.

I also have a wonderful sister. Her name is Sara Adrianna. She is my one and only sibling. We do almost everything together. We study together, we gossip together and we go out together. She's very reliable. I tell almost most of my secrets with her. I am sure, she does  not share my secrets with anyone else because she is very honest. I know i can count on her πŸ˜‰πŸ’–
