THE UNITY ATTACK๐Ÿ˜”

15 MARCH 2019

It was one fine Friday. It was a bright day, the green grass glistened in the sun which was blazing in the cloudless sky. Friday is known as a holy day to Muslims. It is more significant and more beneficial than any other day of the week. It is the day Muslims gather together to pray in congregation. Friday is also the day which one of the greatest verses in the Quran was revealed.

"This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favor upon you, and I have chosen Islam as your religion." (Quran 5:3)

I was at school that particular Friday, getting ready to perform Maghrib prayer when suddenly I saw my friend Khadijah broke into tears.

I came to her and she told me about the Christchurch mosque shooting.

We had no smartphones so we kinda feel lame and left behind when it comes to current issues.๐Ÿ˜•

She used to live in New Zealand before, specifically Christchurch because her mom was having MASTERS education there. She knows almost everyone that died because of the shooting. One of her close childhood friends, Sayyad Milne, 14 years old was performing his Friday prayers was one of the victims affected by this mass shooting.

This was the photo of Sayyad that Khadijah showed to us
The Christchurch mosque shootings were two consecutive terrorist attacks at mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, during Friday Prayer on 15 March 2019. The attacks began at the Al Noor Mosque in the suburb of Riccarton at 1.40 pm, and continued at the Linwood Islamic Centre at about 1.55 pm. The gunman live-streamed the first attack on Facebook Live.

The attacks killed 50 people and injured 50 others. A 28-year-old Australian man, described in media reports as a white supremacist and part of the alt-right, was arrested and charged with murder. Politicians and world leaders condemned the attacks.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern called it one of New Zealand's "darkest days."

It is the deadliest mass shooting in modern New Zealand history. It has rekindled memories of the last tragedy to hit Christchurch.

Al Noor Mosque, where 42 people were killed.

I was touched when I knew that people in New Zealand held vigils and laid flowers at the mosques all around the country in tribute to 50 victims of the attack

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ˜”

Students in New Zealand also paid a moving tribute to two of their peers who died in the in the Christchurch shooting. They performed a haka, a ceremonial Maori dance, to mourn the victims and honour the dead.

I honestly lost for words when Khadijah told me about this. People have been reduced to killing each other, and this make me feel sick. I can't even begin to comprehend why would someone commit such an inhumane act and hast the guts to also mainstream it? ๐Ÿ˜ข

What has this world come to?

My deep condolences to the victims of the cold blooded terrorist attack. What a sad and shameful day for humanity..

;)

Dear killer,
You can kill Muslims but you cannot kill Islam. Islam is the religion of peace, love and tolerance.

We will not be afraid
We will not lose hope
We will continue going to our mosques
Our faith will get stronger
We will remain united
We will bow down only to Allah

Terrorism has no religion
Extremist has no place in the earth

Assalmualaikum,

GET SPORTY, BE HEALTHY! ๐Ÿ˜‰✨

Hello awesome readers!❤

After a few hectic weeks that felt like months, I'm finally at home now in conjunction with the mid-term break 1 school holiday. Yeay! \(^0^)/

Current mood:blogging๐Ÿ’ป + eating popcorn๐Ÿฟ

Last week, we just finished our annual sports day known as 'KeJoRa' which actually stands for Kejohanan Olahraga MRSM Tun Abdul Razak.Every each one of us,including teachers and staffs were divided randomly into 4 houses regardless of any forms.

We have 4 sport houses:
  • VALIANT
  • LEGACY
  • ORION
  • LEGEND
and my sport house is LEGACY! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™

We used to have ERUDITE and EXTREME, but they were already disbanded for some reasons :/

A few weeks before KEJORA, we had a 'sukantara' event where everybody has to be involved. 4 events were held which are 100m, 200m, shot put and long jump. Marks will be collected from the contributions of a single person from that house. Everyone needed to do the event within the targeted time or target to collect points. 2 points will be given to each person who passed the target. But if they didn't pass, they will still contribute 1 point to their sport house. LEGEND was in top spot, followed by LEGACY but the mark difference was too big to catch up :(

Going up to KEJORA, all I could say is that it was one of the most tiring weeks I've had.  Everyone was busy preparing for the parade, tent decoration and athletes for the sporting events. This year's theme is floral and LEGACY was a mix of Avatar and flowers. ๐Ÿ”ท๐ŸŒธ

Here are some pictures where we got the ideas from:

The real final day was on Friday. Just imagine all sports event being wrapped up IN JUST ONE DAY. Unlike previous years, it took 3 days for the whole KEJORA. Hm, but it's okay. Every cloud has a silver lining, even though it was super tiring, I guess it's better giving all out of your energy in one day rather than skipping 3 days classes. Plus, you have SPM this year Sofea! Wake up!⏰๐Ÿ“–

I participated in 3 events which are 8oom,1500m and 4 x 400m relay race๐Ÿƒ‍♀️๐Ÿ’จ. I had to choose the events wisely so that I know how long the gaps are between every events because i do...need...rest...(since all of my events are categorised as long distance run ๐Ÿ˜ช)

So,,everything went well hehe๐Ÿ˜Š

We started at 7.45 a.m. but the weather was sultry and terrible. It was so hazy and the very first event was 1500m. Imagine running around the track for 1500m while inhaling haze. Gosh, only God knows how suffocated I was. My luck, I managed to get 1st place :) Then, for 800m, I sped up the fastest I could during the last lap and placed myself for the 1st place yeay!

2 gold medals for me yeay! ๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿฅ‡

Here comes the sad part;
4 x 400m relay was held at 3.00p.m.. So we had time to rest before the event. I was the second runner and I was ready to receive the baton from our first runner. When just a few steps more to reach me, suddenly the first runner fell down and she was sort of having stroke. Me and teammates felt so disappointed but what can we do, things happened already :/

Overall, LEGEND is this year's champion๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŽ‰. It was a bit shocking because LEGEND have never won KEJORA before. All my past years in MRSM Tun Abdul Razak, the champion is always VALIANT. Plus, they always have that kind of winning aura.

At the end of the day, I was still happy and proud of myself. I really enjoyed the last KEJORA of my life. All my hard work including daily training, diet(I didn't eat spicy food and icy drinks for the sake of maintaining stamina) and strong self-mentality๐Ÿ’ก. I couldn't make this through without the help of my family and friends. Love all of them!

Here are some photos during KEJORA;

L for LEGACY!!!๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™

A DAY BEING SOFEA ๐Ÿ’‹

Have you guys ever wondered how does it feels to be living in my life? Haha probably no. For this entry, I would like to share a day of being me. So readers, just imagine putting yourself in these situations and activities.๐Ÿ˜‰

People might say I have a boring life, but hey, I think mine is awesome!

Okay, you guys ready? Here we go:

8.00 a.m.:

*Stretches and yawns*

Just woke up from my beauty sleep hehe. Usually, I would continue sleeping after performing my Subuh prayer. I woke up and immediately make up my bed.

tadaa!
After making up my bed, I go to the window and look up to the sky. Aaaah morning sunshine๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŒป

The view from my window
Then, I would do some morning yogas and exercises. From what I read, by doing morning yoga and exerise, it will warm up our digestive systems thus resulting a higher metabolism rate. Besides, it will ease morning aches and pains. For my yoga routine, here's what I do:

After that, I will go and take a shower.

9.30 a.m.:

Usually, other people will be having their breakfast at this moment. But for me, I usually skip my breakfast and will be having brunch (breakfast + lunch). Yeap. That how my eating time would be. At this time, I will try to at least do some exercises since I will be sitting for SPM next year which will determine my whole life. This will take at least an hour.

But, bare in mind that this is Sofea. Sometimes, Every time I study, I will fall asleep. Yep that's me๐Ÿ˜ There was once, where I was only able to answer 2 questions, and then my brain dozed off๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ’ค hahahaha.

Sometimes, I don't feel like opening some books, so I would just study through some educational apps from my phone:

11.00 a.m.:

Study time is over! It's time for me to get socialize by checking out what's new from the Instagram our maybe watch something fun from Youtube.

I also play some games like Minecraft, Minion Rush and Elevate.

12.30 p.m.:

At this time, I will learn to cook some new dishes. Usually, I will have my sister next to me so that she can monitor me. I think I've found a new hobby now, and it is cooking! haha I never thought this would be one of my hobbies.๐Ÿ˜‹

So, for yesterday, I cooked a few dishes. Some are new ones that I never tried, some are my specialties๐Ÿ˜˜

Yesterday's menu:

Sweet n Sour fish
Fried vegetables with oyster sauce
Omelette
Salted fish

My first time making a sweet n sour fish!

Brunch's ready!

Time to eat! Mmmhhmm. It tastes perfect! Hehe๐Ÿ’š Usually, we couldn't finish all of them, so we will pack them into containers and keep them in the fridge. When Mama and Papa come back home from tiring office work, they would request to taste our own dishes. Believe me, whenever they eat our dishes, there is always smiles plastered on their faces. Phew, glad they like it๐Ÿ’—

Then, its time to perform my Zuhr prayer.

3.00 p.m.:

At this time, I will go and watch some movies from our TV. Since Papa already subscribed for Kodi, an open-source media player software application, I can enjoy as much as many movies I want!

For me, I prefer watching action or thriller movies. But lately, I don't know what's happening to me but I keep on watching romance movies, and latest one was 'On Your Wedding Day', a Korean movie.

Not to forget some snacks, I will always have choki choki and Twisties with me when I watch movies.

Break time! Time to perform my Asr' prayer and having my time for social media.

Okay, back to watching movies.

6.00 p.m.:

It's time for me to do some chores. I will fold some clothes that are taken fresh from the dryer. Next, I will sweep some leaves outside my house.

And here comes the unknown-status-kitty(does he have a master? Maybe yes, maybe no,), and we call him Prince Kitty.

Yup, he comes here everyday.

He's soooo huge and likes to be pampered. He loves to be stroked by people.

7.15p.m.:

I can already hear the Maghrib adhan from my house. I should be inside my house by this time, showering and getting myself ready for Maghrib prayer.

This is the time to relax my mind and feed my soul by reciting the quran. Sometimes, I would just listen to some nasyids, zikirs and surahs.

Here's one of  my favourite playlists:

Continuing to perform isya' prayer as soon as I heard the adhan recited by the muazzin from nearby mosque.

9.00 p.m.:

Time for dinner!

This is the only time where we can gather as a whole family since Mama and Papa are really busy. We talked and joke around while enjoying our meals. Sometimes it took a long time not because we eat so slow, but we just talked to much!๐Ÿ˜‚

10.00p.m.:

After finish cleaning the dishes and the table, I go up to my room and check out the social media. I would usually chat with my friends, sometimes, we do some video call if we have so much things to tell that we are just lazy to type hahaha๐Ÿ˜‚

One with Teh a.k.a cheodoppe

11.30p.m.:

Super time! Yesterday, I had curry maggi for supper, I don't usually go for curry but that was the only choice I had๐Ÿ˜ญ It was super spicy that I could even cry!

Curry maggi + eggs
I always get hungry at this time and it's already been a routine for me to eat during this time.

12.30p.m.:

After scrolling my Instagram feed, I think I need to sleep already. I'm an early bird so I usually sleep early. My mind needs a fresh time to wake up so it's to time for me to sleep.

That's how my life goes. Hope you guys enjoy! Oops! it's already 1.00a.m. and  need to sleep!!! Toodles!

Holiday? More like holi-YAY!❤

Halo! Glad that you're still keeping up with my adventure๐Ÿ˜„ Yeayzies!

So, over the school holidays, most of my friends went on vacations. Some of them went to Korea, Indonesia, Australia and even USA! They keep on posting on Instagram pictures of them having fun and I was so jealous because I really wanted to go somewhere and have quality time with my family. But, my parents were so busy.

Suddenly, last week Mama told me that we're going to Phuket, Thailand. I was on cloud nine when I heard that. Like seriously???!! I couldn't believe my ears!

My sister and I helped Mama and Papa for the booking and hotel reservations. We also did some surveys for the best holiday spots and activities in Phuket.

We already set a date and our flight would be on the 22nd December at 7.30 p.m.. We already booked a KLIA limo to get us to KLIA 2. From the website, the driver would pick up us 3 hours before boarding time.

22nd Dec, 5.00 p.m.

The driver should be arrived by now. We waited for hours but he didn't show up. We tried calling him but we couldn't reach. By hook or by crook, we had to get into the plane. Our last choice was to find a 'Grab' driver.

We finally got a driver after waiting for 20 minutes. We were so relieved and just hoped that we can arrived there by time. Ok now comes to the sad part, there was a heavy traffic and plus, the driver drove super duper slow! Gosh, the meter keeps on pointing to 20-30 km/h๐Ÿ˜ญ The distance from our home to the airport won't take that long, just about an hour. But, he took almost 2 hours to get us there. Like what?!

22nd Dec, 7.10 p.m.

We just hoped that we can  to our plane. We ran to check in our luggage. Unfortunately, it was already closed. We were so sad and frustrated because we missed our flight. Mama and Papa went to the information center to settle down on some things. The person in charge told us that we can change our flight on the 25th December, except for we had to pay some more. And they agreed.

So that's how we missed our flight for the first time ever. I swear I wouldn't want to repeat that again.

25th December, 3.00 a.m.

We arrived at the airport. I didn't sleep that night because I was so worried. I was so glad and relieved after we got our bags checked in. Phew.

DAY 1

We got into our plane at 6.30 a.m.. I chose to sit beside next to the window so that I can see the sunrise. It was magnificently beautiful that I couldn't even sleep ๐Ÿ˜

My kind of view๐Ÿ’™

We arrived around 7.30 a.m.. We booked a taxi and he drove us to our hotel, Palmyra Patong Resort. The hotel was nice and it was doubled-story. After checking in, we went out to had a stroll at the beach nearby, which Patong Beach. It was only 3 mins walk away from our hotel. Cool right?

Patong Beach
Sooooo many stalls near the beach!
We walk and walk and walk, did some shopping and i bought myself a beautiful, beautiful hat! ๐Ÿ‘’
We got so carried away with shopping, instantly becoming unaware that sun was almost setting. We had an early dinner and catch up with some ๐Ÿ’ค's at the hotel.

Our hearty dinner

DAY 2

We woke up early in the morning and get ourselves ready in swimming attire because we're going on an-all-day island hopping adventure! Everything about the tour is utterly amazing. The picturesque view was a sight for sore eyes. The seas were so clear that you see the fishies swimming below. Our tour guide, Mr, Pom was such a good sport and we truly enjoyed our trip.

Waiting for our speedboat!
Wait...where's my life jacket???

Look at the clear water๐Ÿ’“

First stop; Khai Noi Island

Had our lunch here!

So, basically we spent a whole day at the beach. We got back soooooo tired and we all slept early.

DAY 3

It's day 3 already and we were planning to do some shopping๐Ÿ’„๐Ÿ‘› a.k.a. our therapy๐Ÿ’† hehe. We went to a famous shopping center in Phuket where they sell branded items. It is called JUNGCEYLON. Click here to know more about the shopping center. I bought a lot of things there and of course, not just for me, but also some souvenirs for my friends๐Ÿ’š

Shades on because it was scorching hot!

We went to Jungceylon by walking

Gotta need a family selfie in the blog!

Dinner time!:
On Thursdays, we wear dress
Yumzies!๐Ÿ˜‹
As we were eating, trucks like these keep on coming;

DAY 4(last day๐Ÿ˜ข)

We had no plans on the last day so we just go to some souvenir shops to find something. Mama bought a lots of Thai silk likeee so manyyy. We also went to a mosque to perform Zuhur prayer. It was quite far which took us 15 minutes of walking to reach there, but I think it was worth it๐Ÿ˜Š

It was Friday, so the Thai Muslims performed their Friday prayer since that is their obligation as a Muslim. What so amazing is that, their khutbah was given in Thai language!

Not longer than, my tummy was grmbled. We were so hungry because we only ate some bread for breakfast since that was the only halal food at the buffet :")

It was very hard to find a halal restaurant in Thailand, but then, we found one. It is just a stone's throw away from the mosque. The restaurant got that vintage look and the colours made me feel so warm๐Ÿ’“

The outside view from my seat

After we had our meal, we went back to our hotel because our driver was waiting already. We didn't walk back, but instead we rode a Tuk Tuk! In thailand, their taxis are called Tuk Tuk. It looks like a min van, but is more open.

Time to get back to Malaysia. The first thing to do when I come to Malaysia on my mind is to eat kuey teow! I've been craving for it for 4 days!๐Ÿ˜ญ

On our way to Phuket International Airport:

Look who's sad to leave Phuket?๐Ÿ˜›

At the aiport:

Walk and walk and walk

We arrived safely at Malaysia at 10 p.m.. I really did eat kuey teow and that made my night even though I'm tired.
In a nutshell, it was an amazing holiday, so I would call it holi-YAY! Overall, everything was good about Phuket, except for the food. I would love to come there again in the future๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’›
